PEOPLE HELPING PEOPLE - Some Worthwhile Organizations In Northern Minnesota
A table of CONTENTS for this page is near the top of the page!
Now you can download the complete current issue of Northern Herald in .pdf format. Instead of separate links, as before, you'll find all of our Features, Classifieds, (including Northern Auto and Boat Shopper, Minnesota Real, Northern Personals and other classifieds), Hot News, and now, PICTURES TOO!, in the online issue, which now looks just like our print edition.
Click here to download the issue, and the free Adobe Acrobat Reader (if you don't already have it)
In the changes we have made to the page, we have preserved our fast-reference searchable library (The Library) as it has always been. It is still in ASCII format for easy back issue research.
This page displays best in full
width (i.e. maximized) window. Browsers differ and
it's hard to make it look the same on all. If some images or ads appear
behind others, try expanding your width. In some cases, reducing your width
a tad may correct vertical spacing problems. If you're interested in one
of our advertiser's ads, or an illustration, but can't read it, some browsers
(e.g. Netscape) allow you to right-click the image to get a VIEW IMAGE
option. This will expand that particular image or ad. Then, to get back
to this main page, click your BACK button.

(called, by some, the "Crime

"If We Don't Like the Facts,
You Can't Read Them !"
Bemidji business, as well as
the City of Bemidji, by Al Felix, City Attorney, have made a concerted
effort to try to keep the facts and the free press out of the hands of
Bemidjians who want it. That should tell you something about Bemidji business
and city management. MENARDS, a major midwest employer and retailer, a
few years ago, just said 'No' to Bemidji. Thinking people do. (Several
years later, Bemidjians offered Menards a better deal; that's why they're
here!)

the actions of the City of Bemidji unconstitutional, click here.
On June 16th, 2003, the United States District Court, at Minneapolis, ordered the City of Bemidji to pay $3,001 in damages, plus costs, for violation of First Amendment rights, by attempting to suppress distribution of Northern Herald in Bemidji. Details in issue of 06/30/03 in The Library, Vol. 8 (link below).

The complete current issue is now available in .pdf format. It contains ALL OF THE FEATURES THAT USED TO BE ON SEPARATE PAGES! It has news, Northern Auto and Boat Shopper, other features, classifieds AND PICTURES! The downside is that it takes about 5- 15 minutes (depending upon your modem) to download (so readers may want to save it after downloading), and you have to have the Adobe Acrobat(R) Reader. But the Acrobat Reader is free and will enable the reading of many web documents that now use this format. And it enables you to receive the complete NORTHERN HERALD, looking almost exactly the same as the print edition.
To
download your free copy of Acrobat (R) Reader, click here.
This download will take about
30 minutes, but you only have to do it once and you'll have it for all
future use (a lot of manuals, documents, forms and government stuff on
the net are in .pdf format). If this link doesn't work, just go to www.adobe.com

Last words from our Editor...
NORTHERN HERALD'S DISKFIX SYSTEM
Ever notice how, when a floppy
fails, most tracks are usually OK and there are just a few bad spots? What
a waste! Why throw away the whole disk?
Now, buy the Northern Herald DiskFix System! It's better than other diskfixes because there's no messy software to learn or contend with! It's 100% Hardware-Oriented - even we can understand it!
This is basic stuff to enable even Northern Minnesotans to fix their floppies! It enables you to easily remove the erroneous data bits that are garbaging up certain tracks, making them unreadable!
What we send you:
razor knife
magnetic media
our special superglue
magnifying glass
some Band-Aids(R)
Special: order NOW, and also receive an Advanced Repair Kit which blocks-out BAD SECTORS which cannot be fixed with the DiskFix kit, so your machine will not try to access them!
What you get:
Map of floppy disk - data and
directory areas
Duct tape (25 ft. roll - enough
for hundreds of floppies!)
Extra special for prompt response: Hard drive access sluggish? Send your order today and we'll also include a 486 or 586-size can of WD-40(R) with a special straw that conveniently fits the apertures in your tower!
Northern Herald High Tech - Solutions for Today's Minnesotan!
And remember - if it can't be fixed with duct tape and baling wire - it just can't be fixed!!
